Bienvenida del Ayuntamiento de Córdoba a ZGR Corporación

Córdoba welcomes the new ZGR Corporación Manufacturing Plant

The arrival of ZGR Corporación has attracted significant attention from the local Córdoba press and is widely perceived as a decisive step toward industrial modernization, the creation of highly skilled employment, and the consolidation of Córdoba as an attractive hub for technological and sustainable investment.

ZGR Corporación’s CEO, Íñigo Segura, accompanied by other members of the company’s executive team, was welcomed by the Mayor of Córdoba, José María Bellido; the Government Delegate in Córdoba, Adolfo Molina; and a broad representation of senior officials from the City Council. During the visit, they observed first-hand the progress of the industrial facility that ZGR is commissioning in the city—a project involving a €10 million investment and the creation of 150 direct jobs over the next two years.

“For Córdoba, this is an extremely positive day, and we are grateful that an internationally renowned company like ZGR is investing in our city,” stated Mayor José María Bellido. Along the same lines, ABC Córdoba emphasized that “a national and international benchmark arrives with a technologically cutting-edge project.”

Meanwhile, El Día de Córdoba highlighted that the city welcomes another major industrial player, noting that the company will launch “a state-of-the-art plant in the logistics park, where it will manufacture electrical energy storage equipment designed to inject power from solar panels into the grid and strengthen overall system robustness.”

Skilled workforce to manufacture Solar Inverters and High-Power BESS solutions

During the presentation, Íñigo Segura explained that ZGR chose Córdoba due to its availability of highly qualified labor, institutional support, and high-quality infrastructure. This decision followed an evaluation based on 20 criteria, 16 of which were directly related to talent and human resources.

As reported by Diario de Córdoba, “although the first employees have already received training at ZGR’s factory in Vitoria, the company will continue adding personnel for production capacity targeting 6 GW by 2027.” The newspaper also noted the mayor’s commitment that “efforts will be made to ensure that local training programs match the evolving talent requirements of the plant.”

The new ZGR production facility, located in the El Higuerón Logistics Park in Córdoba, covers 7,000 m² and will be specialized in the manufacturing of solar inverters and high-power BESS (Battery Energy Storage Systems).

Global vision and proprietary technology

ZGR Corporación designs and manufactures advanced power electronics systems. As highlighted by Diario de Córdoba, its customers include major electric utilities, industrial companies, logistics centers, and essential operators such as Iberdrola, Mercadona, Cobra, and Schneider Electric. The newspaper added: “These systems ensure electrical supply continuity even in scenarios of outages or instability, and they support the transition toward a more sustainable, secure, and decentralized energy model.”

With the headline “Giants,” ABC Córdoba summarized the city’s sentiment: “The Córdoba City Council hosted the presentation of the latest company joining the drive for reindustrialization. ZGR, headquartered in the Basque Country, will have a new production plant outside the region for the first time. The investment will exceed €10 million and will create 150 direct jobs. It will be located in the Andalusian Government’s logistics park in El Higuerón. The plant will manufacture high-power electrical equipment compatible with both solar generation and conventional power sources. It is a global leader choosing to establish operations in the city.”
