The Buñol solar plant has an installed capacity of 2,600 kWn and photovoltaic modules totaling 2,991.3 kWp. Its connection will be made to the 20 kV L-05 Godelleta high-voltage line of the SET Buñol substation, belonging to i-DE Redes Eléctricas Inteligentes. This project will inject renewable energy into the distribution grid supplying Buñol and surrounding towns.
A high-density Central Inverter integrated into a complete skid
The ZGR CTR 3000 Central Inverter installed in this project integrates four high-density power modules, advanced reactive power regulation, and extensive communication capabilities with the plant’s control and monitoring systems. The entire system is mounted on a metal skid together with the 20 kV transformer, protection equipment and communications systems, which simplifies installation and commissioning.
Our technical team was involved from the project’s early stages to align the design, system integration, and control connections, providing significant support to the EPC’s engineering team. ZGR’s technical expertise in power electronics and electrical networks also provided recommendations to optimize the plant’s system design and interconnections.
As highlighted by Germán Rincón, ZGR’s technical lead for the project: “We have delivered a reliable, highly productive, and scalable Central Inverter, capable of achieving the best performance while providing the flexibility required to incorporate energy storage in the future.”
We position ourselves as the trusted technology partner for engineering firms and EPCs looking for highly reliable central photovoltaic inverters, specialized technical support, and solutions prepared for integration with energy storage.
Environmental commitment and landscape integration
The One Victoria Solar 1 plant has been designed with a strong environmental commitment. The panels were installed following the terrain’s natural contours, minimizing runoff and improving water infiltration. In addition, native vegetation and traditional features such as olive trees and stone walls were preserved, maintaining landscape harmony and biodiversity in the area.
This approach aligns with the growing demand for solar projects that not only generate clean energy but also respect and protect the environment in which they are deployed.
Ready for hybridization with energy storage
The ZGR CTR 3000 Central Inverter shares its electronic architecture and control systems with the ZGR PCS 3000, enabling straightforward hybridization with storage systems. This compatibility paves the way for evolving the plant into a hybrid system, capable of combining generation and storage—a key advantage for EPCs seeking to anticipate future requirements for grid flexibility and stability.
In Spain, the deployment of solar plants will continue in order to meet the targets of the Integrated National Energy and Climate Plan (PNIEC), which aims to achieve 76 GW of installed photovoltaic capacity by 2030, ensuring a more sustainable, resilient, and secure electricity mix for the country.
However, an increasing number of photovoltaic projects will also require integrated energy storage systems to ensure both stability and profitability. For this reason, the ZGR CTR 3000 Central Inverter, with its compatibility with the ZGR PCS 3000 storage system, has been designed to address both current and future needs of the sector.
