ADIF - estación de trenes de Valencia

ZGR Corporación wins three new contracts from ADIF to supply to Valencia, Barcelona and Sevilla stations

  • Along with Eleko Galicia, these new given are added to the previous purchases for the stations of Atocha and Malaga.
  • The UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply System) will be used to protect the stability of the electricity supply and thus guarantee communications at these key mobility hubs.
  • For ZGR, this fifth consecutive purchase by ADIF highlights the robustness, flexibility, productivity and efficiency of its industrial UPS/UPS equipment, as well as its usefulness in railway infrastructures.

ZGR Corporación has been awarded three new contracts by ADIF to supply UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) to train stations in Valencia, Barcelona and Sevilla. On this occasion, as on previous occasions, the Basque manufacturer is working with Eleko Galicia, the electrical warehouse through which the supply is channelled.

This is the fifth order in six months, the first awards being for the Malaga and Atocha stations.

The function of UPS requested by ADIF

The ZGR UPSs requested by ADIF are intended to protect the stability of the power supply in these railway stations, guaranteeing communications and data flows. From train control to security management, information screens, ticket validators, etc., each communication is supported by an energy backbone that must operate without outages or fluctuations, hence the importance of this equipment.

ZGR UPS INFLUENCE HP

Specifically, ZGR, through Eleko, will supply an 80KVA ZGR Influence HP UPS for Barcelona station; another 60 KVA UPS for Seville station and a third 100KVA UPS for Valencia station.

A 100 KVA ZGR Influence HP UPS has already been successfully installed at Atocha station, and in Malaga a 40 KVA model is currently being installed.

“These are ideal devices for protecting mobility centres,” says Jon Ander, director of the Industry business line at ZGR Corporation.

They are also used to protect industrial processes, hospitals, emergencies and data centers, as it is an advanced online double conversion technology (rectifier/inverter), which completely isolates the consumption from voltage, frequency and noise variations coming from the main electric line.

“Basically, these UPSs act as a power backup in the event of power failures or power outages. In these cases, the equipment supplies the energy stored in its batteries to keep the devices connected and running for a certain period of time. In this way, there is a margin of time to safely shut down the connected equipment, or to keep it running until the normal power supply is restored,” says Jon Ander.

Colaboration between ZGR Corporación and ELEKO Galicia

The collaboration between ZGR Corporación and Eleko Galicia“, says Jon Ander, “is an example of how the value chain of the energy industry cooperates to offer technologically advanced solutions to the end customer, offering a comprehensive service that includes from the technical audit to identify the best solution according to the need, to the supply of the contracted equipment, its installation, operational training for the customer’s team and subsequent maintenance”.

For ZGR, this fifth consecutive purchase by ADIF is evidence of the robustness, flexibility, productivity and efficiency of its industrial UPS equipment, as well as its usefulness in railway infrastructures.

With extensive proven experience in the protection of critical processes, as well as in improving the quality of the grid and consumption, we will continue to focus on applied technology and innovation to offer the best solutions to our customers. As a strategic company, our equipment is designed to guarantee power supply in the event of any grid failure in electro-intensive environments.
