Study of the potential of new WBG (Wide BandGap) materials in energy conversion
This project studies the potential of new WBG (Wide BandGap) materials in energy conversion.
The result of this project allows Zigor R&D to strengthen its leadership in power electronics technologies by making use of the latest advances in WBG semiconductor devices that will allow a qualitative leap in the different Zigor products, especially:
Renewable Energies: Photovoltaic inverters, hybrid systems, etc.
Storage systems
Energy backup
Power conditioning
Obtaining competitive improvements that are specified in:
More energy efficient systems, which is not only economically beneficial for end users but also as a global benefit due to the associated reduction in electricity generation.
More compact systems.
Improved characteristics, allowing better integration in distribution systems and microgrids.
