Smart, modular and interoperable hybrid energy storage system for stationary applications
The main goal of the iSTORMY project is to develop a low cost, modular, efficient, (industrial) solution for stationary energy storage, with an optimal configuration to maximize reliability, safety, and lifetime to provide different services in the electricity grid at the lowest cost. To achieve this, several sub-objectives are defined in the project.
- Objective 1: Double the EV battery lifespan by providing 2nd life for batteries in stationary applications.
- Objective 2: Achieve longer lifetime of 1st life batteries.
- Objective 3: More reliable and long-life modular Power Electronics (from TRL4 to TRL6)
- Objective 4: Increase total System lifespan and performance.
- Objectives 5: Demonstration/validation of lowest TCO
In iSTORMY, Zigor will design, prototype and test a new modular power electronics architecture based on low cost, high reliability and high efficiency DC/DC and DC/AC converters for hybrid multi-technology storage for stationary application.
